Crystal River Kayak Tours Kings Bay Manatee Kayaking Tours

In 1983 the State of Florida designated Crystal River / King’s Bay as an Outstanding Florida Waterway. From our own kayak launch we’ll take you out on a kayak tour through the canals and waterways that share the headwaters of the Crystal River. This area boasts the largest herd of both seasonal and full time resident manatees. Our manatee kayak tour takes you to places where manatees frequent and you’ll have a chance to view the manatee in its natural habitat.

During the official manatee season, (Nov. 15^th – March 31^st), designated areas called “Manatee Sanctuaries” are places where manatees can get close to food sources as well as warm water springs and away from human contact.

	The King’s Bay area has over 30 freshwater springs and includes the Three Sister’s Springs made famous back in the 70’s by biologist Jacques Cousteau where a manatee pen was built and an injured manatee was nursed back to health, and then released back into the wild. The remains of the pens can still be seen. Our kayak launch is only a 10 minute paddle to that second magnitude spring. Bring your swim suit as it’s a great place to get out and relax.
